Shall we Play a Game?

Something to do, on these cold and rainy winter days, like today. I recently learned to play chess, from my son. I enjoy it, even though I'm not very good. This photo from Marksburg castle in the Rhine River Valley, reminds me that this is a game that has been played for centuries. I can imagine the people of medieval times in this nook in the hall, concentrating and passing the time with a game on a long winter's day. (Although in my imagination I'm guessing the people are much cleaner than they actually were.)

Today I will say to my son, "Shall we play a game?"

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. The first thing that came to mind. is there any app for this!
Gage and I were playing Star wars Battleship yesterday and there is nothing better.. unless it is playing Uno on the iPad. Games are the best, hope you two have many, many days of game Love!

  2. What an interesting looking chess set. It looks old - I wonder if it is. Beautifully lit from the window too. I am no good at chess - can't think far enough ahead. I tell myself I live in the moment to compensate :-)

  3. A strange game. The only winning move is not to play... sorry, the title of your post made me think of War Games.

What's your view of the world? I love to hear yours too!
